Hi friends, welcome back, today in this Photoshop tutorial you will learn how to create a eye photo manipulation effect. This effect is inspired by the movie THE EYE. Few days back I was watching this movie, and this led me to check the movie poster and found this poster was really amazing and creepy. So i decided to create a similar effect. Ok let’s move on to the tutorial.
STEP-1 Download and open the image.
STEP-2 Duplicate the image, and then press CTRL+SHIFT+U to desaturate the image.
STEP-3 Using the pen tool, select the center part of the eye.
STEP-4 Go to Image>Adjustments>Hue saturation and apply the following values.
STEP-5 Select the original image duplicate it by pressing CTRL+J; place this image at the top of all the layers. Then go to Image>Adjustments>Photo filter> Sepia and set the sepia tone density to 80%.
STEP-6 Again go to Image>Adjustments>Curves and adjust the accordingly as I done below, this values will only work on this image alone, because each image comes with different lighting effects, if your keen on using a different image, then adjust the curves accordingly.
STEP-7 In this step we will give some brightness to the image. Go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness Contrast and apply the following values.
STEP-8 Now go to Image>Adjustments>Hue Saturation and apply the following values.
You can notice that we are using more of adjustments; this is because to give it a desired effect at the end.
STEP-9 In this step we will bring in the fingers image.
STEP-10 Delete the outer parts excluding the fingers.
STEP-11 Place the fingers exactly as I have done here below.
STEP-12 Now press CTRL+SHIFT+U to desaturate the image.
STEP-13 Apply Hue saturation to this image. To do that go to Image>Adjustments>Hue saturation and apply following values.
STEP-14 Now duplicate this image, go to filter menu>Other>Highpass and set the radius amount to 8.2 pixels. Once it is done set the blending mode of this layer to LINEARLIGHT.
STEP-15 In this last step, select all the layers, group it by pressing CTRL+G, duplicate this group, hide the original layer. Then select the duplicate group layer, press CTRL+E to flatten the group into one single layer.
Again duplicate this flattened layer, then go to Filter menu> Video > Highpass and set the radius amount to 8.2. Once you have done this, set the blending mode of this layer to COLORBURN and set the opacity amount to 60%.
That’s it we have completed the tutorial. This is final preview of the image.
I hope you have learnt and enjoyed this tutorial, please share it if you like it, will be back with yet another good tutorial.
