Photoshop Tutorial: Create A Wood Chopping Axe.

Hi friends, Today in this Photoshop tutorial we will create a beautiful looking AXE. This is a very easy and simple tutorial; with within few steps you can create a beautiful looking axe icon from scratch. Here we have not used any layer style, and not many filters too, just using some shapes and brushes we have come out with this beautiful axe. Ok now let’s move on to the tutorial.

TEXTURE

STEP-1 Open a new document with any size.

STEP-2 Press P to bring in the pen tool, and draw a shape as I have drawn below, with the color code # bc7331.

STEP-3 Go to filter>noise>add noise and set the noise amount to 15.

STEP-4 Again go to filter>blur>motion blur and set the radius to -20 and distance to 15 pixels. This is how it will look.

STEP-5 Now pick the burn tool with default brush attributes. Brush at the corners of the wooden stick. Again pick the dodge tool with default brush attributes and brush accordingly at the center of the wooden stick. Now pick the sharpen tool and brush accordingly. This is how it will look.

STEP-6 Pick the pen tool again and draw a shape as you see below. Name this layer as blade.

STEP-7 Download the texture and bring in and place at the top of the blade layer.

STEP-8 Now select the texture layer, CTRL+CLICK on the blade layer to make a selection in the texture layer. Once it is done copy and paste the texture, and then hide the original texture layer. This is how it will look.

STEP-9 Now using the burn and dodge tool with default brush attributes brush it accordingly to give the desired look.

STEP-10 Once you have done with brushing, go to image>adjustments>hue saturation and set the values accordingly.

STEP-11 Once again pick the pen tool or just press P to bring in the pen tool and draw a shape like I have drawn below.

STEP-12 Again using the burn tool brush at the edges.Finally add some shadows, text to make it as realistic as possible.
