Photoshop Tutorial: Design A Book Shelf Business Card.

Hi friends, its been few days, since our last tutorial. I think you have enjoyed your weekend. Today in this Photoshop Tutorial we will be designing a creative and beautiful bookshelf business card. You might not come across such a business card. It’s very easy to create. Ok let’s move on to the tutorial.

STEP-1 Open a new document with width of 350 pixels and height of 200 pixels.

STEP-2 Fill the background with the color code # 57106c.

STEP-3 Now duplicate the background, by pressing CTRL+J. Once it is done, pick the marquee tool, and make a selection like I have made it here below. Press delete once you have made the selection. Name this layer as BORDER.

STEP-4 Still on the border layer, double click on this layer to bring in the layer style window. Apply the following layer style values. Here I have used DROP SHADOW.

STEP-5 Now using the pen tool draw a shape as you see below with the color code of # 67490f.

STEP-6 Draw another shape with the color code # c59946.

STEP-7 Pick the type tool and type any word of your choice, here I have typed my blog name designcrust.

STEP-8 Double click on this text layer and apply the some drop shadow effects.

STEP-9 Now duplicate this text layer, right click on this duplicate layer and select the option rasterize. Now bring in the transform tool by pressing CTRL+T, right click on this transform tool, select the option flip vertical. Once done, move this layer slightly down, this will act as a reflection.

STEP-10 Pick the marquee tool and make a selection like I have done here below, press delete. Now set the opacity of this layer to 25%.

STEP-11 Duplicate the shelf layers, and make it stand in a vertical form. See the image below. Add some drop shadow at the back of the shelf.

STEP-12 Now again duplicate these shelf layers and place it accordingly as I have done it below.

STEP-13 Give some shadows at the corners of the shelf. To do that, create a new layer below the shelf layers, pick the marquee tool make small selections at the corners, fill it color black, go to filter>blur>Gaussian blur and set the radius amount to 3.1.

STEP-14 Again pick the text tool, and type any word of your choice. Apply some basic drop shadow effect to it. Repeat the steps as we have done in STEP-9 and STEP-10.

STEP-15 Add contact numbers at the top shelf, repeat the step number 9 and 10. Once it done, create a new layer below the contact text layer, using the marquee tool make a selection fill it with color black, go to filter>blur>Gaussian blur and set the radius amount to 10 pixels.

STEP-16 Pick the pen tool tool and draw a shape like below. Name this layer as book. Double click on this layer to bring in the layer style window, apply the following layer style values to this shape. Here I have used GRADIENT OVERLAY style. Once done add few more books, and apply different gradient overlay colours.

STEP-17 Finally add some text in the middle of the books. See the image below.
