Creative Logo Design Process For Techgasm.

Hi friends, this post is almost like a dream post for me, you may ask why it is so?. As a logo designer, you want to be appreciated for your creative designs, yes that appreciation made me to write this post. I always wanted to write about logo design process, this is a pretty cool way to show your clients that how creative you are and also how dedicated you are towards your work. Even some clients will understand how intense the work is, how much of effort will go into each project.

Initially when i started as a freelance logo designer, i started directly with the software, rather than following a procedure. What is the procedure in logo designing?.

As far i know the first would be

Collecting the brief from the clients

Clients may have their own thought of how a logo should look, what will be the primary or secondary colours (may be some clients will totally submit everything to the will of the designer and pass on the thought only during the time of review), they may give you a list of their own thoughts, they may list out that the logo should be bold or light, it should be modern or traditional, whether it should be personal or professional, playful or serious and so on, as a logo designer collect all the briefs, then it is easy to have ideas.

Research

Make a research about the company and its competitors, learn how well they operate in market and so on. That will be the research part.

Brainstorming/ Sketching.

Once you have collected enough information about the company, then start brainstorming or sketching the logo in a sheet of paper, this technique is one of the most important point to remember as a logo designer, take time and go on putting your thoughts into the paper, you will be wondering how each design transforms into another.

Software program

Choose the best software, Like Adobe illustrator, Coreldraw, Adobe Photoshop, i would recommend vector software like illustrator or Coreldraw, rather than raster software like Photoshop. Now start illustrating those designs which you have sketched. And see the transformation that takes place, that’s an wonderful feeling. From scratch to final product.

Sketching or Brainstorming

Sketching is one of the best techniques to explore your creativity. My sketching may look odd, after all i am not Van gogh. From these sketches i got an idea.

Don’t raise your brows, the powerful weapon here is none other than the software, i always use Adobe illustrator, that’s my powerful weapon. Came out with different ideas.
